Steven Edward Sparks, 69 of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Monday January 4, 2021 after battling an aggressive form of brain cancer. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Steve managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day he was surrounded by his family, who he adored more than anything else in the world.
Steve was born on July 15, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of Vivian Sparks and the late Jack Sparks. He graduated from Elder High School and played football throughout his years there. He went on to become a successful manager in the food distribution industry and had just recently retired. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially taking his grandkids for ice cream, and family vacations at the beach.
He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 47 years, Marcia, as well as an amazing father to his children, Jodi and Brandon. His grandchildren brought him great joy and he always enjoyed spending time with them. He was especially known for his sense of humor and kind, generous heart. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Steve is survived by his loving spouse, Marcia (Meyer) Sparks; children, Jodi (Erik) Engelhardt and Brandon (Brittney) Sparks; grandchildren, Karlie Engelhardt, Reid Engelhardt, Mackenzie Sparks, Brody Sparks; Brother, Tim (Tracy) Sparks; Sisters, Sharon Neumeister, Cathy Sparks; and a host of other family members and friends.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions the family has chosen to hold services for Steve privately with a celebration of his life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers: The family asks that contributions be made to the American Brain Tumor Association (abta.org). Prayers and memories are encouraged.
