Straits, Ruth Ellen, 91, daughter of Carl J. and Helen (Berry) Stephenson, passed away peacefully January 23, 2021 in West Chester. Memorial service will be held privately for the family on February 6, 2021. Ruth was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and role model for others. She deeply loved the Lord, her family and her friends. An exceptional woman who was patient, kind, and generous extending grace and providing warmth to everyone around her. She made friends where ever she went and was loved by many.
Ruth enjoyed living an active life, pursuing interests such as golfing, music, dancing, arts/crafts, socializing, attending church and Sunday school. Her faith in the Lord inspired those around her. She was a remarkably strong woman who was always confident and did not shy away from a challenge. Ruth will be forever loved and eternally missed.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Karen Helton (John); grandsons, Justin and Adam Helton; granddaughter, Madison Straits; son-in-law, Alex Troster; and her brothers, Bill (Mary) and Jim (Jeanie) Stephenson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Straits; stepdaughters, Janice Straits and Kristy (Straits) Troster; stepson Jeffrey Straits; and sister Dorothy (Stephenson) Hanna.
