CINCINNATI- Rosemary "Dee" Kirby, 91, passed away January 18, 2023. Born March 2, 1931, daughter to the late Joseph and Anna DeSalvo (nee Salamone). Preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert Kirby.
Left to celebrate her memory are her four daughters, Karen (Fred) Florian, Janet (Paul) Brizzolara, Joyce (the late John) DePaoli, and Kathy (Brian) Sullivan; her grandchildren Michele Florian, Danny (Jamie) Florian, Steven (Jane) Florian, Jeff (Julianne) Florian, Sarah (Adam) Blum, Michele Brizzolara, Kristen (Ryan) McCarty, Douglas (Courtney) DePaoli, Bradley (Jessica) DePaoli, Ian Sullivan, Kirby Sullivan, and Connor Sullivan; her great grandchildren, Collin, Isla, Rose, Lia, John, Nicholas, and Maverick; and many cousins, friends, and caregivers.
Dee was a lifetime resident of the Westside of Cincinnati. She attended St. William Elementary School and continued on to graduate from Seton High School. A few years later, she married her high school sweetheart, Bob Kirby. They would go on to celebrate 57 years of marriage and four wonderful daughters. During her stead on the Westside, Dee was involved with St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
The love and devotion to family was paramount in Dee's life, from Sunday family dinners, to daily telephone calls to keep up with the lives of her daughters and their families. Her open and selfless heart was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. The memory of her beautiful smile and thoughtfulness will warm the hearts of many for years to come.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 28 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1175 Overlook Ave. Following visitation, a Memorial Mass will take place at 12 Noon.
The family would like to thank all the caretakers and staff from Bayley Place and Queen City Hospice for their commitment to excellent care and compassion.
