Obituary

Ronald Lee Heidkamp, Sr. Ronald married the love of his life Kathy on June 13, 1964. They were married for 58 years. They had 6 children, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He loved and cherished his time with his family. He had many other children that he treated as family that looked up to him as a father/grandfather figure. He provided a loving home for his family and sacrificed much to provide for his children's education. He cherished his dogs with all his heart. Always an animal lover he cared for the stray cats and loved the raccoons that came to visit him in his yard. He enjoyed watching old westerns on tv. John Wayne was his favorite. He even ventured out west to the place that John Wayne filmed his first western. He also loved his trains. As children we had the biggest and best train set up imaginable. He spent hours building this and playing with us. Ronald served in the US Navy aboard the USS Thuban for 4 years. He was then employed at the United States Post Office for 46 years. After retiring he enjoyed working on the projects around the house, especially his garden. He is the beloved husband of Kathleen Heidkamp. Loving father of Beverly (the late Mike) McMillen, Rhonda (Dave) Swann, Ronald Heidkamp, Jr., David (Monica) Heidkamp, Catherine (Tim Daulton) Heidkamp, and Thomas (Cherri Foster) Heidkamp. Devoted grandfather of Michael (Erica), Nicholas (Ashley), Micheal (Samantha), Alexander (Melanie), Maria (Robby), Danielle, Jessica, Matthew (Noelle), Greta, MacKenzie (Conall), Elliot, Braycen, and the late Stephen. Honorary  adopted grandfather of Grace, Sarah, and Greg. Adored great-grandfather of Micheal, Conor, Molly, Charley, Ashley, Redick, Ava, Emmalyn, Paisley, Avery, Emily, Hailie, and Tripp. Cherished son of the late Anthony Bayer and Sylvia Jackson. Dear brother of the late Patricia Gambrell. Also survived by nieces Wanda, Sylvia, and Donna and nephews Donald and James. Passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the age of 81. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Faith Fellowship Church, at 6734 Bridgetown Road, Cincinnati, OH 45248, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ronald McDonald House.  www.springgrove.org
