Ronald George Kratz, age 82, passed away on January 22, 2021. He was born and raised in Winona, MN by his parents, George and Nettie Kratz. He was devoted to his family and is survived by his wife, Matilde Gandolfini, sister, Cheryl Learn, children Alex Kratz, OFM, Veronica (Ted) Tollefson, Sabrina (Bryan) Kratz Selvage, and four grandchildren.
Ron graduated cum laude in Business from Macalaster College and served in the US Army for three years. He was stationed in Verona, Italy where he met the love of his life, Matilde. He had a long career at Procter & Gamble, where he worked in purchasing and was afforded the opportunity to travel internationally. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling the world and spending time in the Italian Alps with his wife, volunteering and supporting various charities, and being with his family. He loved hamburgers, potato chips, ice cream, Italian food, playing tennis, watching sports, listening to Vivaldi and laughing over a good joke. He lived his life with great integrity, including his Catholic faith. Above all things, Ron was devoted to his family and he will be greatly missed. After suffering with prostate cancer, he passed away in his home surrounded by his family.
A private funeral mass will be held at St. James of the Valley in Wyoming, OH on Friday, January 29, 2021. COVID protocols will be followed.
