Mark J. Baur of West Chester Ohio passed away on March 12, 2021 at West Chester Hospital.
He is survived by his mother, Leslie V. Baur. Also, siblings, Lisa C. Dysert (John) and Jeff C. Baur. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Autumn J. Goedicke, Derek Goedicke, Dennis W. Porter and Mary D. Kopka (Ryan). In addition, he is survived by three great nieces and nephews Shaunecy Bonner (Autumn), Emmett Goedicke (Derek) and Everett Kopka (Mary).
Mark was a 1977 graduate of Lakota High School and attended Raymond Walters College.
Mark was active for over twenty years In the Boy Scouts of America, Dan Beard Council and Troop 990 in West Chester. He served at every level of the organization receiving the Silver Beaver award and a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. Mark achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was an explorer with the Hamilton County Park District.
He had a love for camping and visited Philmont Scout Ranch. His favorite trip was always the family vacations to the Great Smoky Mountains. He also enjoyed Red River Gorge and John Bryant State Park along with all the Scout Camps. Mark had a passion for fishing and was a NASCAR fan and was a member of the Kentucky Speedway since the day it opened.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Funeral Services for Mark will be conducted at 2 PM Friday, March 19, 2021 at Spring Grove Funeral Home, 4389 Spring Grove Ave in Cincinnati. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM. He will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery.
