Lisa Bennett Mahaffy, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2021. During her impactful life full of prioritizing others, she fought a courageous war against depression, winning many battles along the way, but now she is at peace. Lisa will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, caring daughter, loving mother, proud grandmother, and so much more.
Left to carry on and cherish her memory are her parents, Roy Samuel and Wanda Bennett; her husband, Paul M. Mahaffy; her children, Nathan and his wife Heather, Ian, and Kaitlyn Mahaffy; her grand-princess Alayna; sister Andrea Rood; and countless other members of her family and friends.
Lisa was born on December 9, 1964 in Lima, OH. She graduated from Highlands High School in Fort Thomas, Kentucky in 1983. She went on to major in social work and graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1987. At the University, she met and fell in love with her husband, Paul. She pursued a career in social work and her focus was always to help and care for others. As a mother, she sacrificed her career to focus on her 3 children including schooling them from home. Later in life she continued focusing her efforts on others by caring for her parents and babysitting her granddaughter, her little heartbeat. Normally a quiet and introverted person, Lisa found an outlet for her intellect and humor via social media where she was consistently able to entertain others. She enjoyed spending time in nature and bird watching. Above all else, Lisa loved Jesus Christ and her family.
The Mahaffy family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this time. They ask you to remember that Jesus loves you and He created you. If you or someone you know is struggling with depression, please reach out and find the assistance and support you need (National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 800-273-8255).
