Helen M. Kissel, age 91, beloved wife of the late Andrew P. Kissel, to whom she was married for 53 years, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2021. Beloved mother of Diane (Robert) Burket, Andrew (Julia) Kissel, Kimberly (Don) Warmbier, Scott Kissel; cherished grandmother of Shannon Burket (Maarten Foubert), Brooke Burket, the late Robert Kissel Burket, Paul Burket, Andrew (Kristen) Kissel, Margaret (Mark) Wireman, Edward (fiancée Allyson) Kissel, Kathryn Helen (Eric) Smith, Kristi Warmbier, Abby Warmbier, Thomas Kissel, and Tanner (fiancée Emilija) Kissel; adored great grandmother of Alexander, Jonas, Willem and Lincoln Foubert, Andrew, Grace, Claire and Rhys Kissel, Charles and John Wireman, Abigail Kissel, Jackson, Cameron, Olivia and Andra Smith. Helen was born June 7, 1929 in Long Island, New York. Helen came from a large family, sixth of seven children. She adored her siblings, Mary, Florence, Jim, John, Margaret and Tommy and they adored her. During her childhood they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she has always called "home". A gifted, creative, and outgoing person she filled our home with homemade forts, neighborhood carnivals, practical jokes, heart shape pancakes, unwavering faith, and daily child-like surprises. Our home was filled with children, animals, and endless fun-filled activities. She made every day beautiful. Heaven became a brighter, more joyful place when she arrived. If you want to honor her legacy, simply brighten someone's day with a "hello", a huge smile or a joyful "God Be with you"!
Public visitation will be held at Spring Grove Funeral Homes (4389 Spring Grove Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45223) on March 5, 2021 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day March 6 at 11:00 am at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church ( 9375 Winton Road Cincinnati OH 45231). Entombment at Spring Grove.
