Glenna Lopina (nee Shields), 93, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2021. Beloved wife for 65 years of the late Ed Lopina. Devoted mother of Doug (Pat) Lopina, Debbie (the late James) Tenhover, Doreen (Rick) Ruskaup and Colonel (R) David Lopina. Cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Judy Swartz and the late Mary Ellen Hibler.
Glenna grew up on a farm in Granville, Ohio, attended the Ohio State University, and became a TWA stewardess. She and Ed settled in Greenhills, forming roots with good friends, neighbors, and fellow members of Greenhills Presbyterian Church. In addition to raising her children, Glenna's passions included travel and involvement in TWA Clipped Wings, an organization for retired stewardesses.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 1:45 p.m. at Cedars of Lebanon Chapel on the grounds of Spring Grove Cemetery (4521 Spring Grove Ave.) where visitation will be held from 1:00-1:45. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenhills Community Church, Presbyterian or to The OSU Edward F. Lopina Endowment Fund. Condolences may be made at www.springgrove.org.
