Douglas Erris Maundrell, 73, died suddenly in his home, on January 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; mother, Mirian and brother, Michael. He is survived by his wife, Helen Magers; step-son, Bryan Kidd (Noel); and granddaughters, Colleen and Erin. He is also survived by his sisters, Debbie Dorsey (Ken) and Lori Eberle; brother, Patrick Maundrell (Molly); and step-mother Eulene Maundrell. He also has a wonderful group nieces and nephews.
Doug graduated from Cincinnati Country Day School and The University of Cincinnati. After graduation, he traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East. He also worked for a time on an Israeli kibbutz. Doug was a member of the Cincinnati Police Department for 26 years and had enjoyed retirement since 2000. He wanted everyone to know that he was a member of Sam’s Club, the Automobile Club and the Cincinnati Literary Club.
Contributions can be made in his honor to Cincinnati Country Day School or the Cincinnati SPCA. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
