Carl J. Baur of West Chester Ohio passed away on February 6, 2021 at Bethesda North Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Leslie V. Baur. Also, son Mark J. Baur, his daughter Lisa C. Dysert (John) and son Jeff C. Baur. He is also survived by his grandchildren Autumn J. Goedicke, Derek Goedicke, Dennis W. Porter and Mary D. Kopka (Ryan). In addition, he is survived by three great grandchildren Shaunecy Bonner (Autumn), Emmett Goedicke (Derek) and Everett Kopka (Mary).
Carl was active for over forty years In the Boy Scouts of America, Dan Beard Council and Troop 990 in West Chester. He served at every level of the organization receiving the Silver Beaver award and a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow. In addition, he was certified as a Pastor by the United Methodist Church while still attending Central High School. He was a member of the Sharonville, Ohio Fire Department while still in high school and became a proud member of the first certified ambulance service in the State of Ohio.
After high school, he attended Wilmington college where he studied theology. He then became employed with Ford Motor Company and completed an associate degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
He had a love of travel and visited Philmont Scout Ranch and enjoyed several trips to his ancestral home in Ruti, Switzerland. His favorite trip was always the family vacations to the Great Smoky Mountains.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Spring Grove Funeral Homes, 4389 Spring Grove Ave. Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM 2:00 PM
