Obituary

Calvin E. Hubbell of Cheviot Ohio, joined the Lord on November 15, 2020. Born July 24, 1952 in San Diego California to Nelson and Ann Hubbell. He is survived by his daughter Callie Hubbell and her mom, Clare Hubbell. He also leaves two brothers Robert (Nancy) Hubbell of Hawaii and Carl (Mark) Hubbell of Missouri. His brother Clifford Hubbell predeceased Calvin. Calvin leaves a foster family, the Azevedo’s, who took him in as a teenager. In addition Calvin leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.

Calvin served as an MP in the Army, then completed college. He taught in multiple schools in the Cincinnati area. His true vocation was wheel thrown pottery, he won multiple awards for his art. His greatest joy in life was his family and he will always be in their hearts.

Calvin had a long fight with dementia. Special thanks to all the friends and family who supported him: Terrace View Garden Staff, Wanda and Tom Bevington, Jaime and Traci Iliff, Robert and Carl Hubbell, Dan and Marleen Cassedy with all the Cassedy’s, Elva Wagner with the Roswell gang, and many friends. And all the friends who were “there” when we needed you. Your support to Calvin and his family are shining lights.

If you plan on attending his mass, we ask you to wear a flannel shirt, or some type of flannel, in memory of Calvin. Due to the current restrictions, a gathering will be planned at a later date. Please send Callie or Clare your favorite memory of Calvin, and those will be shared at that time.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Thursday November 19, 2020 at St. Alyosius Gonzaga Church.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Personal Guardianship Services (230 Northland Blvd. Cincinnati Ohio, 45246) or Terrace View Garden Patient Activities (3904 North Bend Road Cincinnati Ohio 45211).
