Anita Mascari (nee Neal), 96, passed away on September 8, 2020, at her home in Aurora, Indiana.She was born June 27, 1924 on a farm in Bremen, Kentucky to Jefferson and Nellie (Allen) Neal.
Anita left the farm to do her part for the war effort as a riveter of airplane wings during WWII. Eventually she moved to Cincinnati, where she met James Mascari while working downtown at Willis Music. They married in 1948. Later, she worked for Suburban Press as a typesetter for many years. She devoted much of her time and energy to taking care of her family members, including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved gardening in her yard and sitting on her porch watching theworld go by. Anita is survived by her 2 sons, Steven (Betty) Mascari and Rick Mascari; her 5 grandchildren, Renee (Geoff) Bauer, Gina (Jesse) Dye, Michelle (Jimmy) Miller, Jill (Jason) Day, and Danny Mascari; and her 6 great grandchildren, David Dye, Jay Miller, Rachel Dye, Remy Miller,Laura Dye, and Anna Dye.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Mascari, mother Nellie Neal, father Jefferson Neal, brothers and sisters Pearl Gross, Hallie Moore, Birdie Conover, Lois Clore, Robert Neal, Morgan Neal, Dorothy Gish, and Lottie Cash.
Eternal rest grant unto her, Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
