Public Volunteer Opportunity March 2023

Public Volunteer Opportunity March 2023

Our goal will be to give newly planted groundcover a horticulture touch up for spring. Tasks will include mulching and edging primarily. We will be in one of our historic sections and you can see up close and hear the tale of the Emery Angel. Dress appropriately for the weather, bring work gloves, sturdy closed toed footwear. Layered clothing works well as you may need to adjust as the day goes. Expect to be kneeling, standing, pushing a wheelbarrow full of mulch, using a spade for edging among other outdoor tasks. All the tools for the job will be provided by Spring Grove Arboretum. Bring a water bottle and light snack if you wish. Directions and further information will be provided to those who register for this event. We are limited to 15 working participants who are at least 18 years of age. Younger participants may be considered case by case, for example a scouting patrol or middle and high school age students with adult supervision. Please contact Brian Heinz with any questions: bheinz@springgrove.org
