Public Volunteer Opportunity April 2023 / Afternoon Session
Our goal will be to spread mulch under trees near the Northgate entrance. There will be a morning and afternoon session with separate registrations. Participants will be able to take home a bag of Spring Grove mulch. This mulch has been created from fallen limbs/branches collected within the grounds of Spring Grove. Dress appropriately for the weather, bring work gloves, sturdy closed toed footwear. Layered clothing works well as you may need to adjust as the day goes. Expect to be kneeling, standing, pushing a wheelbarrow full of mulch among other outdoor tasks. All the tools for the job will be provided by Spring Grove Arboretum. Bring a water bottle and light snack if you wish. Directions and further information will be provided to those who register for this event. We are limited to 15 working participants who are at least 18 years of age. Younger participants may be considered case by case, for example a scouting patrol or middle and high school age students with adult supervision.
