American Veterans Traveling Tribute
|
The Spring Grove Family is honored to present the American Veterans Traveling Tribute.
This indoor display travels the USA with the Cost of Freedom Tribute to provide a forum
for the members of the community to come together to Honor-Respect-Remember all those whom
we have asked to stand in harm's way to protect and defend our great country and freedom as
our way of life. "They are the true American Heroes and we have an obligation to pay tribute
to them by celebrating the freedoms they fought for and stand to insure."
A FEW OF THE MANY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DISPLAY:
- Replica of Vietnam Wall (all names)
- Art Display
- Korean War Display / timeline of the entire conflict with corresponding battle maps and photos
- Gold Dog Tag Display for Vietnam to 9-11 casualties
- 911 display with all names of casualties
- Gold Dog tag display for casualties of Global War on Terror - Including Iraqi and Enduring Freedom
- One of a kind tribute honors those who have fallen and to which there is not currently
a memorial for their honor and remembrance. Each dog tag permanently records the
casualty information (full name, branch of service, rank, date and location of casualty)
for that American Hero. Currently the AVTT Gold Dog Tag display is the tribute to
those who have fallen 1) In hostile military actions between the end of Vietnam and
the 9/11 attack and 2) As a member of the armed forces who have given their life in
the Global War on Terror
- World War II Display / Panels portraying the entire timeline of events
- Walk of Heroes Display with panels for each war in US history
- Video monitors of war footage
- Name locators for all the displays to include the Korean War files
The display will be open to our community Friday, October 22 - Sunday, October 24, 2010
from 8:00AM - 5:00PM in the lobby of Spring Grove's funeral home, the Gwen Mooney Funeral
Home. We encourage teachers and their students, veterans groups and ALL citizens in our
community to participate in this tribute. While you are here, spend some time exploring
the National Fire Heritage Muster event on the grounds of the cemetery, a National Historic
Landmark, throughout the weekend.
Be sure to join us Memorial Day Weekend 2011 (5/27 - 5/30) for THE WALL, Americans
Veterans Traveling Tribute OUTDOOR display. 80% replica (largest replica) of the Vietnam
Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC. The 'wall' stretches over 380 ft. long from end to
end and contains all 58, 253 names.
