Spring Grove Cemetery has provided and encouraged mausoleum entombment since its gates opened in 1845. With the advent of community mausoleums, this above-ground burial option has become more popular and affordable to all.  Spaces called ‘crypts’ are designed to hold casketed remains while smaller spaces called ‘niches’ will accommodate urns containing cremated remains.  These types of disposition are also referred to as entombments and inurnments.

Cremation spaces are approximately half the size of a standard space and are available in various sections of the cemetery. They may have single lawn level memorials, and in most sections, the memorials can be made of either granite or bronze. Upright monuments are not permitted on these spaces.

In an effort to offer the widest choice of burial options, Spring Grove Cemetery is now proud to offer, for the first time, a natural cremation placement offering. These spaces are placed in a wooded hillside area with a natural winding path that meanders through the section for ease of access. The memorials for these spaces are rough cut boulders with bronze memorial plaques.
