Helen loved her family and friends. Establishing friendships came easy to her and she kept in contact with many of them through her life. At the Lodge Retirement Center she would assist new residents with directions and encouraged them to come to social activities. She had many friends there including close friend Lois. They shared stories and laughter on a daily basis. They regulerly took the bus to restaurants, Imax and many other locations around Cincinnati! Her other great friend was Wendall. They shared a love of sports including the Bengals, but especially the Reds. She was great at trivia and remembered a lot about the “Big Red Machine”. Helen’s high score in Wii bowling was 216 thanks to Wendall who lined her arm up regularly to hit the mark. Helens’ other great love was sewing and she was good at it. She completed many flower girl dresses, a suit for herself and Earl, her sister Gingers’ mother-of-the-bride dress and many other creations.
