Obituary

Jenny Loomans passed away peacefully on October 6, 2019 at the age of 56. Loving wife of 31 years to Gary Loomans. Beloved mother to Hans (Liz), Olivia (Alex), and Grace. Cherished grandmother to Penelope, Finnick, and Jennifer. Dear sister to Chris Collins-Wooley, Tim Wooley and the late Becky, Joan and Randy. Cool aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Jenny wrote recently: "When I was very young I wanted to be a jockey (horse crazy), an artist, a singer... Toward the end of high school, my secret desire was to be a wife and mother (secret because my college prep-school was aimed at career and liberation, and no one would have sympathized). So I became a teacher. But I realized that if I didn't let God drive this bus, I would never be happy and nothing would be right in my life. Oh, I've tried to take control many times over the years, always mucked things up, but now, towards the end, its easier to let him lead."

A memorial visitation will take place at 4:00pm at NorthChurch (4222 Hamilton Ave Cincinnati Ohio 45223) where she was a treasured member and worship leader. Memorial service will follow at 6:00pm Interment will be at Spring Grove Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted in her honor at City Gospel Mission (1805 Dalton St. Cincinnati, OH 45214), Sarah Center (1615 Republic St. Cincinnati, OH 45202) and NorthChurch (4222 Hamilton Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45223).

I first met Jenny (Wooley) at One Way Gang at College Hill Presbyterian Church in the mid 1970s. She took hold of all that God had for her. She had such a wonderful spirit about her. It was not a surprise that she and Gary found each other! What a privilege it is to have known her. My love to Gary and all who love her.

Lorraine and Gary, I am so very shocked and saddened for your loss. I am praying for your family, and so grateful that we will all be together again when the Lord calls each of us home. Please know that so many people are praying for you, either though I never had the pleasure to meet Jenny, I have known of her for decades and prayed for her. May our Heavenly Father give you the peace and comfort that only He can provide. Ann

Always loved Jenny's smile and her sensitive spirit. She loved the story, The Gift of the Magi, by O Henri as much as I. I met her while she was a college student at the University of Cincinnati and I was on staff at College Hill Presbyterian leading the college group. My first year I used to visit the campus on Thursdays and have lunch with Jenny and others from the group. It was mainly a group of commuter students and others the same age who were not enrolled in college. Reconnecting with Jenny via Facebook has been a joy. Prayers of comfort for Gary, the kiddos and other extended family members.
