Dorothy Lorine Lee

Age: 85
Born: November 18, 1933
Died: June 10, 2019

Dorothy Lorine Lee was born November 18, 1933 in Moulton, Alabama to the union of Lonzo Gibson and Virginia Dalton (Scott) and was raised by J.C. Lee. She was the oldest of 6 children.

Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Julius Travis Lee, daughter Peggy Joyce Ervin and great grandson Tyree Clark.

Dorothy "Big Mama" as she was affectionately called, was reared in a God-fearing home and accepted Christ early in life. Her faith helped her endure her illness. Dorothy was employed at Deaconess Hospital for 35 years. After all her hard work and dedication, she retired as a Nurse Assistant.

Dorothy attended Old Woodward and Stowe School. She was an amazing swimmer with many hobbies such as pressing hair, piercing ears and she all-around loved shopping.

Dorothy better known as "Big Mama" loved Thanksgiving and cooking big meals for her family. She especially enjoyed seeing them all gathered as one.

Dorothy "Big Mama" leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Linda, Volores (Roger), Roy, Barbara; sisters, Gerome, Venesha (Tyrone); brothers, Ronald (Gail), Gaylord, Jerry (Kathy); special niece Tina Johnson, 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren.

    Relationship: Neighbors

To the Lee family and your extended families, the Johnson family and I send our sympathy, condolences, big hugs, lots and lots of love, and heartfelt prayers for your comfort, peace, and strength during this time of bereavement. Mrs. Lee was a very kind and sweet woman whom I will always remember her smile and her gentle kind voice speaking to me from the comfort of her porch on Pulte st. as she watched me pass by daily growing up from little girl into a young lady. :-) May all of your hearts take joy in the honorable life she lived and all the lives she’s touched. May you also find great peace from the abundance of love she gave and the pleasant memories you have to cherish and share for generations to come. It is our heartfelt prayer that you’ll all feel the tangible love, comfort, and power of God’s spirit and the prayers of those praying with and for you carrying you through from day to day in Jesus name! Amen With Love always, Neyona and the Johnson family. ~Love,Li
