Addie B. Daniels was born on January 12, 1931 in Kewanee, Mississippi to the late William and Lois Lindsey. She was later raised by William and Albertine Lindsey. She was one of 8 children.
She was a strong Christian and was an active member for 62 years at Jerriel Baptist Church, where Dr. Johannon R. Tate is Pastor. She served on the Senior Usher Board and of course, the Cooking Board of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank R. Daniels Jr., who she married on April 13, 1968. Together they raised 4 children: Aaron (Jackie) Houze, Shari Houze, Julia (James) Sims, and LaTonya (Dwan) Ward.
Addie worked for many years as a head cook, first at Wiggins Restaurant and then at Bethesda Hospital, until she retired in 1996. Cooking & Baking for her family were true loves of hers. Everyone who had the pleasure of experiencing her gift of cooking & baking came away fully satisfied. She always had something for you to eat & would sometimes get mad if you didn't eat!
Addie was a lung cancer survivor. She was always open & willing to share her testimony about her fight with lung cancer. A strong woman, that is what Addie was.
She was preceded in death by her son Aaron Houze, her brother William Henry Lindsey Jr., her sister Beatrice Lindsey Coleman, her brother Wesley Charles Lindsey, and brother Jimmy Lee Lindsey.
In addition to her 3 surviving children, she leaves to cherish her memory 8 grandchildren; Adrienne (Anthony) Carter, Aaron (Tracie) Houze Jr., Cynthia Houze, Rhonda Houze, Dion (Hillary) Sims, Chafawn Sims, Ashley Ward and Frederick Ward Jr.; 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great granchild, 3 brothers, Thomas Henry, William Patrick and Joe Les Lindsey Sr., multiple nieces and nephews, and loving friends as well as a caring staff at Mt. Healthy Christian Village. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by each one whose lives she touched.
