Robert Glenn Fritz, of Brookville, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 3, 2018 at the age of 79 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Daniel Fritz and his sister, Mildred Cutajar.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sarah J. Fritz; His daughters, Donna Lockhart (David) of Fort Worth, TX and Dyan Garner (Dan) of Union, OH, and his daughter-in-law, Amy Fritz of Jackson, TN. He also left behind four grandchildren: Shannon Robinson, Wesley Fritz, Amy Garner and Daniel Garner. He will be greatly missed by his big brothers: James (Frances) Fritz and Gerald (Marilyn) Fritz. Bob was greatly loved by his many nieces, nephews, family friends and his "son from another bun", Hoyt Updike.
Bob was a proud retired veteran of the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years including service with the 8th TFW in Ubon,Thailand during the Vietnam War.
His final duty station in Oscoda, MI became his home for 30 years. There, he was an active member of Oscoda Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 274. He enjoyed the camaraderie of deer hunting with his family, golfing the beautiful golf courses in the area and fellowshipping with all of his friends at Oscoda Baptist.
Robert Glenn Fritz loved his family and friends well. He also loved his country, watching Fox and Friends, and complaining about politics with anyone willing to join in. Bob was a fan of country music and tried his best to play the guitar and sing Johnny Cash songs with his dear friend Everett Couch. He was always willing to have a piece of chocolate sheet cake or apple pie. He spent his later years "buying his way into heaven" by generously spoiling his grandchildren. We will all miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date. He will be interred at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
