Obituary

Thomas Joseph Craig of Cincinnati, Ohio, died March 4, 2018 at the age of 91. 

Mr. Craig was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne Springmeier Craig. Mr. Craig was born and raised in New York City.  

His career was with WLWT as a Veteran Newsman for many years while he was in Cincinnati. He began his broadcast career in 1951. Before entering television he worked at a few radio stations around the country including WCAU in Philadelphia and WLW in Cincinnati. Mr. Craig was educated in New York City and studied at The University of Connecticut. He served our country in the United States Navy during World War II as an aviation radioman and air gunner. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for action against the Japanese Fleet during The Battle for Leyte Gulf. 

He is survived by his stepson, Greg A. Power along with his wife Amy Power and Emily Duffy of Indian Hill, Ohio. 

Funeral Services for Mr. Craig will be conducted at 1pm on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Cedars of Lebanon Chapel, located inside the Memorial Mausoleum of Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio with Rev. David Bailey officiating also with Courtis Fuller and Dr. Walter Smitson speaking. Entombment in the mausoleum will follow after the services. 

Friends and guests may arrive at 12pm for visitation at Cedars of Lebanon Chapel. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Naval Aviation Museum Foundation, P.O. Box 33104, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, FL, 32508-5402, or to a charity of your choice.
