Catherine R. Cuff, age 92, formerly of East Aurora, NY, and Saint Augustine, FL, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Marjorie P. Lee Retirement Community, Cincinnati, OH, where she had resided since 2010.
Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Francis and Mary (Gahan) Rutty, Catherine was a 1943 graduate of East Aurora High School. She was a homemaker, gifted artist, bridge enthusiast, and long-time active member of Aurora Players, Aurora Children’s Theatre, and the Quaker Chapter of Sweet Adelines.
Preceded in death by sisters Margaret Rutty and Alice Wingard, brother Jack Rutty, and husband Robert J. Cuff, she is survived by children: Patricia, William Sr., and Nicholas Kirsch, Suzanne Shriver, and their families; Catherine (Jerry) Herskowitz of Pawleys Island, SC; step-sons Richard (Suzanne) Cuff of Allentown, PA and Stephen (Beth) Cuff of Portsmouth, OH; grandchildren including Angela (Mike) Jones, Brian Herskowitz, Lauren (Derick) Faller, Mary (Nick) Weckman, Catherine and Caroline Cuff; great-grandchildren including Benjamin Jones, James and Sarah Faller; three nieces and one nephew.
A Memorial Service and reception will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 610 Fourth St., Portsmouth, OH. Interment will follow at a later date in the Oakwood Cemetery, East Aurora, NY.
