Kiersten was the daughter of Keith (Gina) and Margo (McDermott) Siepel. She graduated with honors with an English degree from the University of Cincinnati (UC) class of 2011 and was close to completing her Master’s degree at UC. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority. Kiersten recently started at Roundtower Technologies as an operation analyst after working in UC’s IT department as well as numerous food service and catering roles. Kiersten had a passion for the under privileged and women at risk and gave her time to these causes previously managing the kitchen at the Welcome House women’s shelter and teaching women cooking basics. At McNicholas High School and UC, Kiersten played the trombone in the marching band. She also enjoyed karaoke, cooking with a passion for desserts, and collecting items with an owl motif. Kiersten took her role as the eldest grandchild on both sides of her family seriously. She recently spoke at her grandfather’s funeral, spent Christmas Eve night with her newly widowed grandmother so she didn’t have to be alone, and she often had lunch with her grandparents. Kiersten is survived by her Grandmothers Joyce McDermott and Carol Siepel, uncles Kevin Siepel (Sharon) and Scott McDermott (Rachael), cousins Austin, Kyrie, Savannah, Ethan (Siepel) and James (McDermott) as well as extended family and close friends. Kiersten was preceded in death by her Grandfathers Jerry McDermott and Bill Siepel.
Those who so desire may make memorial donations in the memory of Kiersten to The Welcome House or Freestore Foodbank.
