William (Robbie) Smith Robertson, age 93, passed away peacefully on November 27 from heart failure. He is preceded in death by his wives Mary Louise A. Robertson (1998) and Sheila Miller Robertson(2015) and a sister, Mary Louise Abbott (Clinton). He is survived by his children, Andrew (Diana) of NYC, Kathy McCord of Cincinnati, Michael (Judy) of St Catharines, Ontario Canada and Malcolm (Karen) of Cincinnati. He leaves eight grandchildren, Alexandra Robertson, Katie McCord Ambrite (Aaron), Christine McCord, Laura, Lachlan and Aidan Robertson and William and Nicholas Robertson. Robbie was born in St Paul, Minnesota and graduated from St Paul Academy and Princeton University. He served in the 12th Armored Division in WWII and participated in the liberation of Landsberg concentration camp. He enjoyed a successful career as a builder and land developer and retired at age 92. Robbie served on the Dan Beard Council, was on the boards of the Cincinnati Home Builders Association, the Ohio Home Builders Association, The Northside Bank and Trust, and the Cincinnati Country Club. He loved his family, golf, traveling, watercolor painting, and vacationing in Southampton, Ontario and Florida.
He charmed everyone with his quick wit, intelligence, amazing memory, great story telling ability and generosity. He will be dearly missed by both family and friends.
Services will be held at St Rose Church 2501 Riverside Dr. on Saturday December 2, 2017 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the charity of your choice.
