Harry Albert Sjolin, age 90, of Cincinnati, passed away Friday October 27, at Twin Lakes of Montgomery. He was born October 5, 1927, in Clarkston, Michigan, the eldest son of Harry H. and Harriet Esther (Wakelee) Sjolin. Harry attended Northwestern University. He was then appointed to and graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy. He later received his masters degree from Northwestern University. In 1951, Harry served as a navigator in The United States Air Force. Stationed in Seoul, Korea and was later discharged into the U.S.A.F Reserves. Harry married Beverley Waterbury in 1956.
Harry began a 30 year career with Proctor and Gamble where he served in many capacities. Harry’s interests and hobbies included over fifty years in Scouting, S.A.R., Rotary, Junior Achievement, playing bridge, gardening, fishing, traveling, and he sang in the Southern Gateway Chorus for many years. Harry loved sports of all sorts and was a life-long Cubs fan. He was a member of the Northminister Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beverley. His children, Richard and wife Lora, and Sally and husband Marc . Four grandchildren, Natalie, Kristopher, Patrick and Konrad. His brother Robert W. Sjolin, wife Nancy and son, Scott.
A memorial Service will be held Monday November 20, 2017 at Twin Lakes of Montgomery Chapel, 9840 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati Ohio, 45242 at 4:00 with a celebration following.
