John and I spent at least 2 days a week together every week for the last 3 years. We'd call each other a few times a week too. I miss him dearly and it's still surreal that he's gone. I got an opportunity to know John a very personal level and I'm so thankful for that. John was a craftsman. Anything that he worked on it had to be perfect. If he was bending conduit it had to have perfect bends, perfect offset, and perfect steps. I know because we did some bending together and not one of my bends was acceptable to him. Sometimes we would be working and he'd say something along the lines of "most plumbers wouldn't go this far" or "most electricians wouldn't do this" and I truly believed him. John was meticulous about the end product and he often went above and beyond. John was a constitutionalist. He firmly believed in the constitution and at any given point he could spout off any amendment and tell you about what it was or why it’s important. Even if you didn't want hi
