Marlene Ann Pretzer passed peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, April 23rd, in her Clarkesville, GA home. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on October 26, 1932.
Ann is preceded to Heaven by her husband of 35 years, Donald R. Pretzer, parents Harry & Marie Trier, brother Marvin Trier, several sisters/brothers-in-law and one nephew.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kim & Amy Pretzer, (Orlando, FL), daughter and son-in-law, Polly & Roger Erickson, (Clarkesville, GA), her sister, June Wegner, (Saginaw, MI), 4 in-laws & 29 nieces and nephews, and their families. She is also survived by her loving and favorite cat, Cookie.
Ann was known for her infectious smile. She was a very active stay at home mom serving on many committees of her children’s numerous activities including their elementary school PTA & Lakota High School Band Boosters. She was an active member of her church, serving on the Altar Guild and several other church groups. After her husband’s death, Ann tutored children at the local elementary school for a few years. She then got very involved with Senior Citizens, becoming chairperson of the West Chester, Ohio Coalition on Aging.
She was an avid Reds fan and never missed any games that were on TV over the past many years. She even purchased Fox Sports Ohio so she could watch all of the Reds games when she moved from Ohio to Georgia. She also loved to watch college football, golf and the Cincinnati Bengals when they were on TV.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 10 AM at Cedars of Lebanon Chapel (on the grounds of Spring Grove Cemetery) where family and friends will be received from 9 AM until the time of service. Entombment next to her late husband will immediately follow.
