Jeanne Geary, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio died on Friday, April 14, at Westminster Canterbury, in Lynchburg, VA at the age of 91.
Jeanne was born on July 24, 1925, in Middletown, OH, to Walter and Pauline Funk. After High School, Jeanne attended the New York School of Merchandising and upon graduation worked at the Wannamaker’s Department Store in Philadelphia, PA until she met the love of her life, Herbert M. Geary. The happy couple married on April 1, 1950. They raised their two children, Herbert William (Bill) and Elizabeth Melick (Beth) in Cincinnati. Jeanne and Herb had the opportunity to live life to the fullest and traveled the world extensively, always coming home to share her experiences with family.
Jeanne was a very kind and caring woman who was totally devoted to her family and friends. Jeanne’s easy smile and friendly demeanor were a welcoming greeting to all. Jeanne and Herbert attended Armstrong Methodist Church, and were faithful servants of Christ.
She is survived her husband, Herbert; her daughter, Beth, and her husband, Clifford of Lynchburg, VA; two grandchildren , Erin Elizabeth Meyer and her husband, Steve of San Francisco, CA; Zane Grey Phillips of Lynchburg ,VA. Jeanne was preceded in death by her son Bill.
The family is indebted to Westminster Canterbury in Lynchburg, VA. who took such good care of Jeanne for the last 4 years.
A memorial service will be held at the Cedars of Lebanon Chapel at Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11:00AM.
