Spring Grove Cemetery

Cemeteries act as memorials to the past, and they offer a unique view of our history, culture, and way of life.  As a means to preserve the history of Spring Grove Cemetery and the stories of its notable residents, the Spring Grove Heritage Foundation hired Phillip J. Nuxhall in 2003 to serve as Spring Grove’s Historian, Docent Educator, and Tour Coordinator. 

During his tenure at Spring Grove, Mr. Nuxhall has amassed a vast collection of historical facts, stunning photos, and remarkable documentation of over 3,000 markers, monuments, and sculpture in Spring Grove.  

To experience Spring Grove’s art, history, architecture, and horticulture in person, public and private walking/tram/bus tours are offered from April through October.
