On July 18, 2019, Governor Mike DeWine signed HB 59 into law designating the month of April as Ohio Native Plant Month. Come and hear from Former First Lady of Ohio, Hope Taft, and Horticulturist, Nancy Linz as they describe how they helped to pass this legislation, why native plants are so important, and learn about some of the activities planned across the State in celebration of our first Ohio Native Plant Month.
This seminar will take place in Spring Grove’s Norman Chapel on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 2:00pm. The seminar will last about one hour and will be followed by a walking tour of Spring Grove’s woodland native plant species led by Dave Gressley, Spring Grove’s Director of Horticulture.
All tour participants are asked to drive to the Woodland Preserve for this tour.
Registration is required. Registration will open on March 25, 2020 at NOON.
"Our native plants are part of an intricate, balanced web, that help to filter and clean our drinking water, remove contaminants from the air we breathe, cool our planet, and feed the bees that pollinate most of our food crops. Your participation in Ohio Native Plant Month 2020, is invaluable in improving Ohio's ecosystems.”
