Your taste buds might be hibernating right now but here’s their wake up call, its maple syrup time! Spring Grove Arboretum team members will give you and your family the unique opportunity to learn the science and history of maple syrup-ing. Did you know that Ohio is amongst the Top Ten states in maple syrup production? One of our newer offerings, the Maple Syrup Tapping event, will demonstrate how maple syrup is made by tapping trees, collecting sap and boiling it into syrup.
The event will begin at the Spring Grove Funeral Home Reception Center. An educational power point presentation will be followed by 'tasting' a variety of 100% pure syrups, including our own Spring Grove Maple Syrup on freshly prepared pancakes and waffles. Signs will direct guests to the funeral home. Guests will then caravan to the site where our horticulture staff will tap pre-selected maples trees. You may even have a chance to help! Event held rain or shine, please dress for the weather.
Registration is required and space is limited. Registration will open on January 26, 2019 at NOON.
