| The people
who work at Spring Grove have very important responsibilities. The
Cemetery is a place of beautiful memories for the families of those
buried here. It is also a place of history because of the many historical
figures buried here. Some families have entrusted members of many
generations to the Cemetery so it serves as a link between the past
and the present. All of this must be guarded and kept for the future.
The Cemetery also is famous for the beauty of its trees and plants,
sculpture and architecture. All of these things must be protected
and kept in such a way that the Cemetery becomes more beautiful
as the years go by.
All of us here at Spring Grove have a sacred trust to uphold.
Equal Employment
Opportunity Policy
It is our
policy to afford equal employment opportunity to all equally qualified
individuals. Spring Grove will abide by all laws against discrimination
due to race, color, creed, sex, age, handicap, veterans status,
ancestry, religion or national origin and any other categories
protected by state or federal law.
We intend
to maintain a working environment free of sexual harassment and
intimidation. Verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature which
is unwelcome, interferes with an individual's work performance
or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment
constitutes sexual harassment.
Management
Philosophy
Spring Grove
Cemetery and Arboretum is committed to a philosophy of participative
management. We are very interested in, and desirous of input from
all of Spring Grove's employees. Whether the contribution from
the employee is in the form of a suggestion to improve productivity,
or to save money, or to assist in the resolution of a conflict,
it is valued.
One important
role shared by Spring Grove employees is active participation
in making our Cemetery
and Arboretum the best it possibly can be. We encourage you to
become involved...to contribute ideas for improving the quality
of our services, reducing costs and creating a better work environment.
Input and
participation should not be confused with a consensus (group decision
making) style of management. While there are certain benefits
to consensus, we want it understood that final decision making
responsibility does lie within the realm of management.
Because of
the desire for cross training and participation, it is not unusual
for employees to rotate among several positions, share job responsibilities
or assist other departments. This also helps us to recognize the
contribution of other employees and departments and provide flexibility
in serving our customers, as Spring Grove continues to grow and
improve.
The management
of Spring Grove would like to state the following specific goals
of our participative management philosophy:
