Dave Rees, Director of Operations of the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home, has been involved in the funeral industry for 24 years and has been a member of The Spring Grove Family since 2001.  In 2008, Dave became a Certified Funeral Service Professional by the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, which recognizes funeral service professionals for their lifelong commitment to continual learning and growth through continuing education programs.  After 6 years of serving as a funeral director for The Spring Grove Family, Dave was promoted to Director of Spring Grove’s Funeral Home in May of 2007.

Dave knew at an early age that his calling would be in funeral service.   Born and raised in Norwood, Dave graduated from Norwood High School in 1980 followed by pre-mortuary studies in 1980 followed by pre-mortuary studies at Xavier University.  Dave graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in March of 1985, where he earned an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science.  At CCMS, Dave was honored with the Delaine Beaver Award which recognizes students for exceptional restorative art talent.
